She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
Proverbs 31:25
The First Ladies ministry of First Baptist Church at the Villages exists to encourage women of all ages and backgrounds to a closer walk with Jesus. Our mission is twofold:
To make disciplines of women. Matthew 28:19
To mentor women in their walk with Christ once they have become a disciple. Titus 2
Core Values
A Place to Believe
John 7:38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare,
‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.' (NLT)
What women believe about God determines their ability to flourish as believers. We affirm the Word of God as our standard of Truth and promise to teach and proclaim His word faithfully.
A Place to Belong
Thessalonians 2:8 'We loved you so much that we shared with you not only
God’s Good News but our own lives, too.' (NLT)
We welcome women of all ages and backgrounds into our community. We reject comparison and competition by celebrating our God-given, individual callings to bring all women closer to Jesus.
Relationships are a vital part of who and how God made us. We were created as relational beings and therefore need to be in relationship. Women need other women in their lives to help encourage and support one-another.
A Place to Grow
Colossians 2: 6-7 'And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.' (NLT)
We desire to experience the transformative work of the Gospel together and to encourage growth in one-another to be more like Christ. It is the prayer of First Baptist Church that you not only grow, but that you flourish in your walk with Christ. It is to this end that any event, activity, study, small group or gathering will be focused on helping women move one step closer to Jesus.
