May we raise up an army of others who will also commit themselves to making Jesus' command to "Go, make disciples" a priority in their lives.
COMMUNITY  OUTREACH
The Third Sunday Collection Team works in partnership with 4 local organizations to provide a monthly opportunity (always the 3rd Sunday) for the congregation to donate tangible provisions for those in need. They collect:
¨ Non-perishable food items for the First Baptist Church Belleview Food Pantry
¨ Gently-used clothing and small household items for Haven, Inc. which ministers to women and children in crisis.
¨ Christian Library International which collects Christian books for men and women who are incarcerated.
¨ Operation Christmas Child which collects toys and gifts year round in an effort to fill more shoeboxes for distribution to children around the world at Christmas Time. (Gift suggestions: Stuffed animals, flashlights (with extra batteries), plastic bowls or cups, small cars, dolls, slinky, balloons, small Etch-a-Sketch, jump rope, and yo-yo's. Please note - Items must be new.)

Donations are collected in the north parking lot, located nearest County Road 42. The drop-off location will be clearly marked. Please bag or box items for each organization separately. Thank you!
Love INC: Love INC is a Christian based outreach program for adults, families, and children in The Villages and surrounding communities. They provide financial assistance, family counseling, and material and spiritual support. Volunteers can work in their Summerfield warehouse, pick up donations, provide a meal for a Tuesday evening class as part of their Journey, INC ministry. Through our partnership with Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary School, we are able to provide a prayer ministry, Teacher Appreciation luncheons, and beautification services throughout the year.

In late summer, just before school starts, we host a Back to School Teacher Appreciation meal to celebrate returning teachers. If you would like to help with the event, watch for announcements in the worship bulletin or contact Pastor Hugh Wicks at the church office.  352.205.7114
Operation Christmas Child demonstrates God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world through the distribution of shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts. Annually, empty shoeboxes are distributed to the local church family to be filled with gifts and are then collected and delivered to the local collection site for distribution by Samaritan’s Purse.

Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc. was established in 1977 to meet the needs of domestic violence victims, to minister to women and children in crisis. Their primary objectives are to provide these victims with alternatives to abuse or life-threatening situations, and give empowerment to establish a violence-free life.
Christian Library International Prison Alliance: CLI is supported by your giving of new and used Christian books to the Third Sunday Collection effort. The books are distributed to men and women who are incarcerated. Volunteers can also disciple inmates through correspondence-based Bible studies. Florida Baptist Disaster Relief—Volunteers are trained, credentialed and standing ready to be deployed when disaster strikes. They assist in distributing necessary resources and minister to those in immediate need in areas such as those ravaged by storms and floods. Some train in chaplaincy, childcare, or communications. Statewide Outreach 

Mission City Church, Jacksonville, Florida

In Spring 2022, First Baptist Church At The Villages entered into a Missional Partnership with Mission City Church, a new church plant currently meeting at the Pacetti Bay Middle School in St. Augustine, FL. The financial agreement was for a one-time gift with plans for further financial support to be evaluated during our upcoming budget year. The church’s giving to Missions in 2022 allowed an additional gift  at the end of December.

First Baptist Church at The Villages went to the Jacksonville area to work alongside our new church plant partners Mission City Church. This was the first mission trip FBCATV has taken to minister with this new church plant. There was prayer walking, distributing invitations, ministering to people in the community, and helping set up for the worship service.

Their very first worship service as Mission City Church was Easter Sunday, just last year. Mission City’s Lead Pastor is Phillip Scarnecchia. Thousands are moving to the Jacksonville area who don’t know Jesus and don’t have a church home. Pastor Scarnecchia and his wife, Erin, strongly felt God calling them to start a life-giving church somewhere in the Jacksonville area and they believe God will use the ministry of Mission City to bring people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus.
 
FBCATV has much in common with MCC. Their Vision and Mission is to glorify God by seeing Jesus change lives and engage believers to live on mission. MCC also strives to develop believers as fully-devoted followers of Jesus.

National Outreach 

Treasuring Christ Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan

We began our partnership with Treasuring Christ Church, located in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, Michigan area, about 5 years ago. It has been an opportunity for us to work alongside North American Mission Board Church Planter Michael Guyer and his wife, Emily, as Michael pastors the church and Emily leads their “Kids Ministry.”
 
The church currently meets in the Cinemark Ann Arbor 20 Theater in Ypsilanti. Your giving to Missions has allowed an annual gift and last year we were able to send additional funds that has assisted in providing the monies needed for a permanent building for the congregation to call home.

Last year (2022) a team from our church traveled to TCC to work alongside them on their annual Serve A2Y event which is a week set aside for service projects throughout their community. The goal of Serve A2Y is to strengthen the community and build friendships as needs are met. Another such trip is tentatively planned for 2023.

Hearts 4 Ukraine

Hearts 4 Ukraine is a ministry of the Kyrylov Family—Sasha, Regina, and their daughters.

  • Their mission is one of introducing Jesus Christ to the children and families of Ukraine by ministering to:
  • Children through sports: They realize their involvement with the children is temporary but the need is long-term.
  • Adults through Christian Education: They travel to local churches and equip leaders to share the Gospel effectively with children through camp ministry, sports, and other activities.
  • Women through maternity care. The abortion rate is very high; therefore Christians see a tremendous need for a Pregnancy Crisis Center—a place where women with crisis pregnancies will receive counseling, education, humanitarian aid and Bible studies.

Sasha and Regina know that nothing happens without the leadership and power of God. They ask for our continued prayer support.
The ministry of Hearts 4 Ukraine operates solely on the financial gifts and offerings of churches and individuals as well as missional partnerships such as the relationship our Church Family has with them.  

NEWS FROM UKRAINE: Our most recent news from the Kyrylov Family was in an email from Regina to Pastor Bob on Jan 31, 2023.  While she is here in the US with the family, Sasha is still in Ukraine. He has not been permitted to leave but has applied for permission to leave the country for a month to come to US and see his family. She was able to travel there in October 2022 and while there they were able to assess the needs for winter. Russia has hit electrical supplies and there are rolling blackouts and no heat and water at times. With available funds they have been able to purchase coal for families in the village as well as generators, electric heaters, diapers, clothes and food for clients at the women’s center. While is US, Regina has been able to raise funds to send to Sasha who is purchasing medical supplies, food items, gasoline, rechargeable batteries, rechargeable lanterns, and thermoses for hot water during power outages. She asks for our continued prayers and that we pray for Sasha to receive permission to leave the country very soon to visit his family, even if for only a short period of time.
