Our Story

How it started...

First Baptist Church At The Villages began as a church plant in December of 2001 with 70 people in attendance in the first worship service which was held at a local funeral home. Worship services were first held in the former Fellowship Hall building in February 2005.

Bob and Karen Perry began their ministry at FBCATV as Pastor and wife in September 2006. Bob's gifts of preaching, teaching and leadership are complemented by Karen's passion for singing, teaching and missions. Together they lovingly serve each person affiliated with the church as Bob strives to provide God-honoring, Christ-like, and Spirit-led leadership to the overall ministry of the church.

God continues to bless the church and membership now totals approximately 719 people who serve and worship God together. In 2009 the church purchased property north of, and adjacent to, the Fellowship Hall and on January 1, 2012 ground was broken for a 900-seat worship center. Worship Services began in the new Worship Center in September 2013.

Expanding the vision...

In 2019, construction began to expand our church facilities. The result is a grand Gathering Hall, additional restrooms,  enlarged staff office area, and new meeting rooms for Bible Study and area to minister to family and children.

In 2020, additional handicap accessible parking spaces were added, so that everyone could have a pleasant and accessible worship experience.

Also in 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FBCATV grew our online worship offerings exponentially, creating new pathways for sharing the Gospel online and through platforms like Vimeo.
