A Clear Invitation

Preparing to Reach a Growing Community
On The Road, Online, In Person
Two Front Doors. One Mission

God has placed First Baptist Church At The Villages on a growing corridor. Our new roadside sign and new website will strengthen two important first points of contact with our community. One will communicate to thousands of people traveling Highway 42. The other will serve people searching for a church online.

The roadside front door
  • A completely new monument sign that is visually consistent with the church.
  • A large, bright, full-color digital screen - similar in appearance to a large outdoor video screen.
  • The ability to rotate attractive graphics and messages throughout the week instead of relying only on fixed lettering.
  • Potential content: worship times, Easter and Christmas invitations, Bible studies, concerts, ministry opportunities, community events, Scripture, and other timely messages.
  • Designed to make the church easier to notice, more visually appealing, and more effective in communicating with people already passing our property.

The digital front door
  • A welcoming first impression for prospective guests before they arrive on campus.
  • Clear presentation of beliefs, mission, worship times, location, ministries, events, sermons, and next steps.
  • Mobile-friendly pathways for guests to plan a visit and for members to stay connected.
  • A modern communications platform that can support the church's broader ministry strategy for years to come.
Frequently asked questions

Why the sign and the website?
They are two primary first-contact points with the community. The sign reaches people already traveling by the campus; the website reaches people searching online. Combining them creates one coherent outreach story.

Why $80,000?
Approximately half of the $108,442.18 sign project has already been funded from reserves. The remaining sign balance plus the estimated $25,000 website build is approximately $79,000, making $80,000 a clear and realistic goal. Any funds received above the $80,000 will be used to replenish the reserve funds used for the downpayment on the sign.

What will the sign actually do?
It will include a large, bright, full-color digital screen that can display changing graphics and messages such as worship invitations, events, ministry opportunities, Scripture, and announcements.

Why invest in the website now?
Lifeway Research shows church websites play a meaningful role for people who move and search for a new church. A modern website also supports members, ministries, sermons, events, and future digital communication.
