On the second Saturday of each month, at 10am , the Women’s Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Blessing Bag Ministry meet together in Fellowship Hall.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry, under the leadership of Linda Ratliff, crochets shawls and lap robes for those in local nursing and hospice facilities, and church family or friends who may be ill, home bound, recovering from surgery or grieving the loss of a family member.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is also making red, white and blue lap robes for The Villages Honor Flight Veterans; sweaters for children which will be distributed by World Vision; and large lap robes for children who live in The Ocala National Forest.
If you can knit or crochet and love making new friends, come join these industrious ladies in this wonderful time of fellowship. If you would like to knit or crochet in your home and not attend meetings, the Ministry can provide you with yarn and pick up the finished shawls or lap robes. If you don't knit or crochet but would still like to be part of this ministry, assistance is needed to deliver the shawls and have a word of prayer with the recipient. And, the ministry can always use donations of yarn.

The Blessing Bag Ministry, under the leadership of Gail Raber, has distributed hundreds of “corn bags”. A "corn bag" is just a small cloth bag, sewn and filled with dried corn. But, when made and given to someone with love, it becomes a "Blessing Bag." Ladies who receive them continue to be blessed because the corn bag can be heated in the microwave and used as moist heat on sore, aching muscles.
"Blessing Bags" are given as gifts when visiting women at the FBC Leesburg Women's Shelter, mothers and children staying at Shepherd's Lighthouse in Belleview and the ladies and children at The Haven in Leesburg. Blessing Bags are also being given as a gift to new ladies who join the church.
