First Baptist Church At The Villages began in December of 2001 with 70 people in attendance in the first worship service which was held at a local funeral home. Worship services were first held in the current Fellowship Hall building in February 2005.
Bob and Karen Perry began their ministry at FBCATV as Pastor and wife in September 2006. Bob's gifts of preaching, teaching and leadership are complemented by Karen's passion for singing, teaching and missions. Together they lovingly serve each person affiliated with the church as Bob strives to provide God-honoring, Christ-like, and Spirit-led leadership to the overall ministry of the church.
God continues to bless the church and membership now totals approximately 830 people who serve and worship God together. In 2009 the church purchased property north of, and adjacent to, the current Fellowship Hall and on January 1, 2012 ground was broken for a 900-seat worship center. Worship Services began in the new Worship Center in September 2013.
Plans are currently (2017) underway to expand the ministry and facilities with the addition of a Fellowship Hall, an expanded Gathering Hall, additional restrooms, relocated and enlarged staff office area, and new meeting rooms for Bible Study and the start of a ministry to family and children. Architects are busily working on design. Watch for updates and see plans on the "Onward!" page.
